Probe Day
Cold probes, mastery by probe, and maintenance across every trial tool
A page that collects the first trial of each target each day from the learner’s trial tools. It shows what was probed today, what is mastered, and what is due for a maintenance probe.
When
- Starting the day with probes before teaching.
- Deciding mastery from first-trial data instead of whole sessions.
- Checking that mastered targets are maintained.
Why
- Nothing extra to record: every trial tool already saves the first trial of each target, and every tool asks each target once before repeating.
- A target is mastered after 3 probe days in a row correct.
- A mastered target not probed for 7 days is due; its next probe counts toward retention.
How
- Open Probe Day with the learner selected.
- Tap Open next to a tool and run it as usual. The first time each target comes up today is its probe.
- Come back to see today’s results, targets due for maintenance, and retention.
Saved to the dashboard: Nothing new is saved. The dashboard card shows targets probed today, mastered by probe, due for maintenance, retention, and the median probe days to mastery. Transition Readiness uses the same numbers.
