# Find It

Listener responding: hear a word and tap the picture

The learner hears a word and taps the matching photo from an array of 4, 6, or 8. Harder levels add “messy” arrays and more photos per word.

## When

-   Teaching receptive identification of nouns (“Touch the ball”).
-   Increasing difficulty in steps once the learner meets criterion at a level.
-   Short, independent rounds where the app delivers the instruction.

## Why

-   Recorded voice gives the same instruction every trial.
-   Pictures that contain or closely resemble each other (a firefighter and a helmet, for example) never appear in the same array.
-   A wrong tap highlights the right picture and repeats the word: a built-in prompt that isn’t scored as correct.

## How

1.  On the setup screen, pick a level: **4 · 20 items**, **6 messy · 40 items**, or **8 messy · 50 × 3** (three photos of each item). Then tap **Play**.
2.  The first word plays right away. Tap the speaker button to repeat it.
3.  Let the learner respond. A correct tap earns stars and moves on. A wrong tap prompts the right answer.
4.  Use **Skip** when the learner isn’t ready to respond. Skips aren’t counted as errors.
5.  Each round is 10 trials. **Log** shows every trial. Press and hold **Hold to reset** for a second to start a new session.
6.  The level stays fixed while you play. To change it, tap **End** (or **Change level** after a round) to go back to the setup screen.
7.  After a round, tap **Play again** to keep going, or **Back to dashboard** to return to the learner’s dashboard (**Back to all tools** when no learner is selected).

**Saved to the dashboard:** The first tap on every trial, plus skips. Changing the level starts a new phase on the graph.
